New Delhi: Face masks are now an integral part of everyone’s skincare routine, and rightly so. Face masks have many uses and there is a wide range of face masks available. You can choose any type of face mask that might suit your skin problem.

How often should you use a face mask?

There’s never a yes or no when it comes to skincare because it’s something different for everyone. No two people have the same skin problem and therefore their needs are also different from each other. You can use a face mask once a week or at most three times a week depending on the type of face mask you use and also your skin problem. They help give you glowing skin and also soothe inflammation if there is any.

Tips for using different face masks:

  1. Charcoal masks: Activated charcoal has been used to detoxify the body. Likewise, activated charcoal masks help remove dirt and oil from the skin that could be causing acne. When applying charcoal masks, be sure to keep them on for 15 minutes and use them no more than two to three times a week.
  2. Gel masks: These masks help replenish skin cells and can be used by people of different skin types. They can help dry, damaged and sensitive skin and are best used two or three times a week.
  3. Exfoliating face masks: These masks have AHA and the BHAs they contain and they can be used once a week or once every two weeks as they are extremely potent and frequent use can damage the skin. Also, people with sensitive skin should avoid these masks as it may irritate their skin.
