Thanks to the popularity of Instagram and TikTok, beauty influencers have never been more popular – or more influential. One of those game-changing influencers is 25-year-old Hyram Yarbro, who has over 4.5 million followers on YouTube and 7 million on TikTok.
Known for his brutally honest product reviews, it’s no surprise that Yarbro recently launched his own brand, Selfless by Hyram, created in collaboration with The list of keys. The five product line is formulated with powerful ingredients but at lower concentrations (like 0.2% retinol and 0.5% salicylic acid) and includes a cleanser, moisturizer, retinol and two types of serums .
As a beauty lover, I knew I had to put the line to the test and see if that was really all she wanted to be. Read on for my thoughts on the five Selfless by Hyram skin care products.
Centella & Green Tea Moisturizing Cleansing Gel is a gentle cleanser that does not damage the skin’s moisture barriers. It’s formulated with Centella and Green Tea to help calm the appearance of redness, tenderness, and irritation, while Glycerin and Baltic Black Moss help skin retain moisture. As someone with dry skin, I generally prefer creamy formulas, but I was surprised at how this gel consistency didn’t leave my skin dry.

This exfoliating serum was created to be attentive to those with the most sensitive skin, so it is not a physical exfoliant. It contains Mandelic Acid to speed up the removal of dead skin, PHA for effective and gentle chemical exfoliation, and Salicylic Acid to help unclog the appearance of pores. My skin did not act with this exfoliant, as it usually does with others, so I would say it really is a gift for super sensitive skin.

In this serum, the gentle retinol and nutrient-rich rainbow algae work overnight to reduce the appearance of post-acne marks and hyperpigmentation in rashes while plumping and softening the skin immediately after licking. ‘application. This retinol serum is great for retinol newbies as the concentration is low at 0.2%, so if you’re not sure about retinol and want to dive into it, this is a safe option. Just be sure to use the SPF during the day if you are using retinol products, as they may cause photosensitivity.

This serum is a blend of salicylic acid, niacinamide and succinic acid to target blemishes and unclog pores without irritating or drying the skin. If you want to get rid of blackheads, this serum is for you. You can either apply it all over or use it as a spot treatment on targeted areas. It’s an incredibly light texture and I love using it in the summer because my skin tends to clog more. My skin looks and feels clear after a few daily uses, however, I recommend using this serum or the retinol serum – don’t mix the two.

This nourishing and light gel-cream combines niacinamide and maracujá for barrier support and even healthy-looking skin. This is one of my favorite products in the line because it visibly minimizes fat and refines pores while improving the appearance of damaged or weakened skin. The skin is super smooth and this moisturizer offers a light consistency ideal for summer days.
